Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs & Diversity at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO), committed to fostering a diverse, vibrant, and inclusive work environment at Lamont. Housed in the Lamont Directorate, this office was created in 2008 as a response to the recommendations of the National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE program, aimed at increasing the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women and minority scientists through institutional transformation. Since its creation, this office has developed and implemented a wide range of diversity, inclusion, and work environment initiatives, impacting different groups across campus. Read about some of these initiatives here. We hope this website provides you with useful information about this office and the work that it does. Please feel free to contact us with any feedback.
